Here's the info from the town about the event:

In its fifth year of organizing Merrimack?s July 4th festivities, the Rotary Club of Merrimack is planning an old fashioned celebration with the theme.  Plan to stay in town and enjoy a local celebration on Saturday, July 4, 2009 which includes the following:

The day begins at 8:00 am with Rotary members hosting a Pancake Breakfast at Merrimack High School. Bring the family for fluffy pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausages, juice and hot coffee.

Register to compete in the Chalk Art Contest beginning at 9:30 am at the Merrimack High School. Open to all ages, the Rotary supplies the colored chalk and you bring your patriotic creativity. Judging is after the parade, registration forms are online or call Katie Choo at 424-8853 for more information.

At noon, take a stroll on the Midway. Activities for the kids include puppeteer Marcus Gale, inflatables, an obstacle course, basketball toss, and a 500-gallon dunking tank and more!  Join the skateboard competition, music all day, and plenty of carnival food for your enjoyment!  For information on the Midway, contact Frank Dunn at 424-8391.

The Parade begins at 1:00 pm from Merrimack Commons, and then travels on Baboosic Lake Road to the high school. Compete in the bike and wagon patriotic decorating contest and ride in the Parade!  Enjoy the Spartan Marching Band, the Shriners, and many others!

Fireworks begin about 9:00 pm on the Merrimack High School grounds. Bring a blanket, bug spray, and watch the dazzling display.

Hope to see you around town, enjoying the local festivities!
